C-14(Consonant-14) is a side table series that turned 14 consonants in Korean letters into functional structures.
“The project began with the idea that if the grid used in designing typefaces is three-dimensional space, types will create a three-dimensional form, not a flat. By applying the steps of 3D forms - structures - functions into the Korean consonants, we have created 14 side tables that anyone can easily use. Material aspect, we chose tempered glass to show the structure and forms of the Korean consonants with the abundance of spatiality.”

“활자가 만들어는 과정에서 사용되는 평면의 그리드를 공간으로 바라본다면, 그 안에서 만들어지는 활자도 평면이 아닌 입체가 될 것이라는 생각에서 프로젝트는 시작되었습니다. 입체적 형태가 구조를 형성하고, 구조가 기능으로 이어지는 과정을 한글 자음에 적용하여 누구나 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 14개의 사이드 테이블을 제작하였습니다. 소재의 적용에 있어서는 강화유리를 선택하여 공간의 풍부함을 보여주고, 자음의 구조적 특성과 기능이 있는 그대로 드러나도록 하였습니다.”
